Selector Named as a Representative Vendor in the 2026 Gartner® Market Guide for Agentic NetOps Software

Network teams have never been short on expertise. What they are short on is time. As enterprise environments stretch across on-premises infrastructure, cloud, and service-provider domains, the work of investigating issues, validating changes, and coordinating a response across tools and teams has outrun what human-driven operations can sustain.

In its first Market Guide for Agentic NetOps Software, published in May 2026, Gartner® defines the category this way: “Gartner defines agentic NetOps software as products that use one or more AI agents to translate operational goals into planned, governed and executed actions for managing network infrastructure across multiple domains… Agentic NetOps represents a fundamental shift in how Day 2 network operations are executed, moving from human-driven workflows to software-led reasoning under defined governance.”

Gartner also says, “By 2030, AI agents will be the most common approach for executing network runtime activities, up from less than 1% in early 2026.”

We are glad to share that Selector was named a Representative Vendor in the 2026 Gartner Market Guide for Agentic NetOps Software.

We believe this inclusion reflects how Selector approaches the work: correlating noisy, multi-source telemetry into a small number of explainable insights, and acting on them under clear human governance, rather than adding one more screen for an operator to watch. That correlation-to-action loop is what Selector was built around.

The hard part is the everyday investigation

In our experience, the difficult part of network operations is not restoring service after a clean failure. It is the continuous, low-grade work of catching weak signals early, across fragmented tools and domains, before they become something users feel. That is where Selector concentrates.

Gartner said, “Infrastructure-independent agentic NetOps software becomes most compelling in heterogeneous, multivendor, and multidomain environments.”

We would add a Selector point of view to that. Infrastructure independence is not only about avoiding lock-in. It is about giving a single reasoning layer enough cross-domain context to connect what vendor-specific tools, each looking at their own slice, cannot connect on their own. When a team spends most of the day establishing what happened rather than fixing it, the payoff comes from collapsing that investigation, not from automating one isolated task inside one platform.

That is the idea behind Selector: software that reasons across the whole environment, surfaces the why behind an issue, and executes change only inside the guardrails you set.

Where to start

The category is early, and the research is clear that adoption should be anchored in real operational pain rather than AI enthusiasm. We would say the same. The strongest first use cases tend to be the ones a team already dreads: incident investigation and triage, pre- and post-change validation, and the multidomain correlation where the answer currently lives in five different tools. If that describes your environment, we would be glad to show you what agentic looks like in practice.
