Meet Artist

Every network team keeps a dashboard backlog. A war room needs a view of one incident. A service owner wants path health for a single application. An executive review needs business impact on one page. Each request becomes a ticket for the tooling team, and the view often arrives after the moment that needed it has passed.

Artist is the dashboard agent in Selector Foundry, the agentic NetOps platform built on Selector Analytics. You describe the view you need in plain language, and Artist builds a live dashboard in seconds. You can then refine it in the same conversation until it shows exactly what the decision requires.

How Artist works

Artist builds on live data that Selector has already collected and correlated across more than 300 sources. Every dashboard draws on the same normalized model of your network, so the numbers in a new view match the numbers everywhere else in the platform.

When you make a request, Artist does four things:

  • Translates your request into a query. Artist turns plain language into S2QL, Selector’s query language, so nobody has to write query syntax.
  • Chooses the right visualization. Artist picks the widget that fits each metric, whether a heatmap, honeycomb, table, or graph.
  • Arranges the layout. Artist places widgets side by side or full width, depending on what the view needs to show.
  • Reuses your patterns. Artist draws on widget patterns from your team’s existing dashboards, so new views look and behave like the ones your engineers already know.

You reach Artist through Rosetta, the conversational interface for Selector Foundry. Rosetta reads the decision behind the request and hands the build to Artist.

A view for every audience

The same live data can answer different questions for different readers. Artist shapes the view to fit the person who needs it.

AudienceWhat the view shows
War roomLive incident status for the engineers working it
Service ownerPath health and service impact for one application
ExecutiveBusiness impact in a form that fits a morning review
Vendor reviewEvidence ready to share with a carrier or equipment vendor

Building a dashboard with Artist

Here is how a request might run during an incident at a data center in Ashburn.

  1. “Create a dashboard for the Ashburn incident with these two widgets.” Artist builds the view from live data, using widget patterns from the team’s existing dashboards.
  2. “Change the peer state widget to the default six-hour window.” Artist updates the time range in place.
  3. “Make that a honeycomb instead.” Artist swaps the visualization and keeps the rest of the layout.

Three sentences produce a working incident dashboard, and the team never files a ticket or waits on a sprint.

Dashboards as an output

With Artist, a dashboard becomes something you ask for in the moment you need it. Engineers spend their time on the incident, the tooling team clears its backlog, and every audience gets a view built from the same correlated data.
